Union Oyster House near Faneuil Hall was established in 1826 and is the oldest continually operating restaurant in the United States. Usually crowded, the restaurant is frequented by locals and tourists. The late President John F. Kennedy's favorite booth is identified by a plaque, and Daniel Webster was a fan of the oysters. While the menu includes chicken, steak and pork, seafood is its forte. The raw bar serves a variety of shellfish. Try the lobster, which is served boiled or broiled. Fast service, great food, friendly servers. Fantastic.
Recommended by our hotel and didn't disappoint. Food was lovely and service was faultless allowing us to have a great experience. Would recommend and if I'm in Boston again, I'll be back!!
The place was cool, atmosphere awesome, very historic. The food not so much or should I say maybe old...Ordered the Broiled Scallops they were Horrible dried out and no flavor. I was with a work group as we were from out of town and didn't want to say anything so I ate two and that was it. The waitress never even questioned why I had my dinner left. Other then that I like the place.
I just love it. It is just so "Boston", so much history. Food is yummy too.
Chowda was Delicious!!!! Best I had in Boston !!!!!!
In town for business and had to give America's oldest restaurant a try. The bar was very friendly, but the wait to move up into the dining room was about 3X what we were told. Once we did get upstairs, all was good. The atmosphere felt very authentic and the food quite tasty. No creative dishes here, pure comfort food, which fits. So in all, ... read more
This should be a 5. The food is amazing. The historical setting is fantastic. It is definitely a place that anyone should try at least once (so long as you are not allergic to seafood). However, after my experience this evening, I cannot give this five stars because our waitress was GOD AWFUL!!!! She never gave us her name, nor told us of the specials or any daily menu items like the catch of the day. She slammed bread and water down and disappeared for 10 minutes. When she came back she said, "What do you want?" in a 'I don... read more

It's a piece of history that you must not miss if u r in boston. I had best oysters and fish chowder ever. The service was awesome...5 stars for service. When our sweet and welcoming waitress told stories about president obama's visit and about kennedy booth, I could feel that I was in really important place.
