About this business

Union Oyster House near Faneuil Hall was established in 1826 and is the oldest continually operating restaurant in the United States. Usually crowded, the restaurant is frequented by locals and tourists. The late President John F. Kennedy's favorite booth is identified by a plaque, and Daniel Webster was a fan of the oysters. While the menu includes chicken, steak and pork, seafood is its forte. The raw bar serves a variety of shellfish. Try the lobster, which is served boiled or broiled. Everything about the Union Oyster House Inc is fantastic. The decor, the history, the many dining floors and bars, the lobster, and of course, the oysters, were phenomenal. Highly recommend to anyone visiting. And take the time to read and see anything you can that’s dislayed or on the walls. With love from Central New York!

We had a great experience despite a short wait to get a table. That ended up being a benefit because we all got to see some of the endless history of the restaurant and the area posted on the walls. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive and the food did not disappoint. I’ll be back!

I absolutely loved my experience. My friend and I were visiting Boston for the 1st time and this was the top of our list of favorites from our trip. The clam chowder is by far the best clam chowder EVER! We shared a lobster roll and the lump crab cakes and were super impressed. The lobster roll had a lot of fresh lobster meat and wasn't doused in mayonaisse like I normally experience. The flavor balance was perfect. The lump crab cakes were loaded with crab...again not a typical crab cake I have tasted elsewhere. For dessert... read more
