I have NOTHING good to say about ANY part of shands! I have never been treated worse by ANY other medical facility. Lived in Gainesville my whole life and instead of getting better shands has gotten worse and worse. I'm disgusted with them and after the next dr appt for my daughter and I, I will cut ALL ties, find new doctors and never go back to another shands facility. 🤬😤🤯🖕🏼

RecommendedMy son was the emergency department in Jacksonville downtown. He was treated well and it didn't take that long. H thought he had some kind of heart issue but they didn't find anything. I will say this about waiting hours to be seen. People with no money, insurance or are on Medicaid use hospital emergency departments instead of seeing a doctor or going to urgent care. The Emergency Room at Shands Gainesville is completely ridiculous!! They clearly are overwhelmed and either need to hire more staff or implement more efficient procedures for moving patients through rather than sick people waiting 10 or 12 hours or longer 😡😡 to be seen!!!!!
