I would give negative stars if I could. From the very beginning of this process I was lied to, misquoted price wise, and given attitude. Regarding this specific store location (at the beginning I was dealing with a store on the East Coast where I was moving from, and they were just as bad) I was given 3 different time frames for my home delivery of my boxes. Where do I begin. 1st why are these people working this U-Haul definitely needs to go and review these employees. This place is the worst customer service. I went on line last week to order a rental from U-Haul and *********** for Saturday, July 29th. I live in ************* and was driving down to help my son move from *********** to ******. I initially ordered the truck for 10:30 a.m. and had planned to help him move and get back home on the same day. At approximately 4:00 pm on Friday. Would give zero stars if it were an option. I made a reservation for a 16' foot truck TWO WEEKS AGO on 7/14. 5:03pm Today, 7/28, U-Haul texts me and moves my reservation across the state line from MO to ** to another U-Haul in ************* roughly 30 minutes and 20 miles from the one I requested because "the truck wasn't back in time". We rented a uhaul from a location then. two days later they called and said there were no rentals, they were overbooked. Uhaul wanted us to go an hour out of our way to rent one. We decided on another location and was told wed get free miles because they messed up. When we went to rent the uhaul they wouldnt give us our original miles, that they had promised free. We paid for ubox pods to be delivered cross-county for our move and uhaul guaranteed that they would arrive in ******, ** by the date we scheduled them to be dropped off by movers, also scheduled through uhaul, but the day before our movers alerted us that they were actually still in the town over, a 20 mile drive away. Due to the unexpected 20 mile drive, the movers no longer wanted to do the job. They read the gas gauge wrong and I paid for their error. My calculations proves them wrong. The agent had a horrible demeanor. Lost $25. Don't care about that. I hate being thought of as a liar and a cheat. Why don't they fill the tanks full and then this would never happen. Totally horrible business practice. U-Haul used to be great. Now they are not.Sad... Said it was 5/8 full at pickup. Not true. Is there a reason not to simplify the gas situation. Rent them full. Rented a 20ft truck and went to the pick up location assigned by uhaul, went there and they changed it without giving me notification. so had to drive through traffic which was not planned at all. I had this reservation for 2+weeks. Now I get to the new location which is a run down gas station and the clerk is beyond rude, they did not have the dolly nor furniture pads which I had paid for in advance as well. Do not use Uhaul!! Trucks are unsafe. Had me a good time driving in the highway though a rainstorm only to discover the windshield wipers were worn out. Received the truck and had to clean out the back, shipping paper, tape, and nails. Furniture pads were crumpled in the corner. Noticed the irony of the cleaning fee sign if you dont sweep it out and fold the pads as I was doing it before I used it. After I moved my s*** out, I swept out the back and folded the pads. Imagine my anger after getting charged a cleaning fee!!!
