just ok – i went to twodo a couple months ago after reading all the great reviews.. i had my hair cut from art who did a good job (and gave me a free bang trim two weeks later) but the cut was plain and for the amount of money i paid, i think you can do better elsewhere.

It's the Real Deal – I've been going to Twodo salon for about 3 years and have never once had a negative experience. I've come to know several of the staff, and have always been treated with warmth and respect. They are knowledgeable about hair and have always guided me without any pressure whatsoever. My hair feels healthier than ever before and I frequently get comments from strangers on how nice it looks. That does it for me! I found the salon on the internet looking for Kerastase and couldn't be happier. I highly recomme... read more

Don't waste your money! – For those of you who believe that you get what you pay for, let me just tell you that's not the case here. The staff at this salon is full of attitude for no good reason-the services are mediocre at best! They also put tremendous pressure on you to purchase additional treatments and products with the threat that your hair will otherwise look awful. You'd think the hundreds of dollars for a simple color and cut would be enough. I was truly disappointed by this salon and think it is overrated to say t... read more

Curly wonder – I have really curly hair. I've been down to Devachan which focuses on curly hair and was disappointed. So, I decided to find someplace in the neighborhood. The receptionist recommended Clyde for curly do's. He was amazing. I was a bit nervous at first and curly hair never looks good right after a cut. But when I went home and washed it out and let it airdry, it looks great. Amazing shape. It's a bit pricey, but cheaper than the curly salons. Without the attitude as well. My husband gets great cuts there too.

Unfriendly – I went to this salon for several months. My hairdresser always did a good job but the atmosphere made it not worth going back. I don't expect my hairdresser to entertain me but I also don't expect them to gossip and whisper with their co-workers throughout each haircut while I sit in the chair completely ignored. He often left to take personal calls or visit with a "regular" who came in. The price is certainly not worth the 10 minutes (perhaps out of an hour) devoted to the actual haircut.

I know what you are thinking – Okay, I can understand why You would think that either I was paid to promote this salon or I don't have anything better to do with my time. But I, like other New Yorkers, don't have spare time and it is against my beliefs to sell my opinion for money. So here is the bottom line, this is the best salon I have been to in NYC. Why should you believe me? Because I have lived here for over five years and tried many salons in ranging from Lupines and Bumble and Bumble to Dramatics and Jeffrey Stein. ... read more

Excellent first NYC haircut!! – Hatsumi, my stylist, was excellent! I took some pics of what I was interested in for my cut. We talked about them, my hair and how I styled it at the time and how I would have to style it with the new cut, and she made some suggestions about what would work best for me to have the type of style I was interested in. The plan was very clear before the cutting started. Hatsumi was meticulous with cutting. While blowdrying my hair she explained and demonstrated different ways I could style it myse... read more

A tremendous experience! – My wife had just given birth to our first child, and I wanted to do something special for her birthday. I contacted numerous salons. Twodo e-mailed me back immediatley, and set aside time to speak with her to find out who she was and what she was looking for. Kevin and Megan (the owners) spoke to my wife directly, and Clyde (stylist), Suzana (colorist), and the entire staff all worked together to give her a new look and to make the entire experience wonderful. Not only is the staff very talented, b... read more
