Great, not too pricey haircut – I decided to get my hair cut at TwoDo after reading some of the glowing reviews on citysearch. I too had a wonderful experience. I dropped in for a consultation before making my appointment so that I could get a feel for the place and talk to a stylist about the cut I wanted. The staff was accomodating and Daniella (the stylist) answered all my questions. I made an appointment for the next day and was given the same top notch treatment when I came back. a big disappointment – Overpriced for an underwhelming experience and cut. Staff were pleasant enough, but at no stage was I made to feel 'special' or valued. The colorist did not even ensure my roots were covered, the wash and condtioning was rough (with water running into my ears) and NO massage, and I wasn't really consulted on the cut- it was a standard chop and move on. For the money paid, I felt that the experience was substandard.
Very happy – Art cut my hair & I had a color consultation with Alejandra. I have very thick, long, naturally curly/wavy hair that I wear straight. Art understood how to cut my difficult hair and recreated a picture I brought in, while Alejandra really understood exactly what I wanted and was able to create a dramatic yet natural effect. Fabulous Facial, Excellent Gift! – Way to go, Two Do! My husband bought me an awesome facial for my birthday at this great salon. Ooo, laa, laa. I was in heaven. Jo Ann was terrfic - knoweldgable and professional. She recommended a treatment based on my skin and my face is now soft and tingling. The absolutely BEST part was the luxurious, eye spa treatment. Wow. An massage just for the eyes. I actually think some wrinkles disappeared. Is that possible??? I'll be back!
I couldn't have been more pleased! :) – Thanks to Google, I found TwoDo -- a quiet little place on the West Side. But it was the name and website that caught my eye first! I totally enjoyed the services and team of professionals at TwoDo! Monica did my color and Hatsumi styled and cut my hair. While I was there, I just wanted to do everything -- so I also had my eyebrows done! One stop shopping - who knew?!? utterly mediocre – My first haircut was average, just not quite there, but the second one was a total disaster, so much so that it made me decide never to go back again. On top of that, coloring (a very simple, one process color) was a bit off... It all makes me feel that the staff is just not well trained. Add to it a bit of a strange, slow atmosphere and a sense of forced niceness/politeness, and you get one unspectacular, if not even uncomfortable place. Superb! – I've tried several salons here in the city since moving to Manhattan 18 months ago. I've now found a salon I'll stick with. Phenomenal all the way around. Comfortable, no pressure, professional, friendly, and the best haircut I've had in years. I highly recommend TwoDo. There's a reason they won the "Best Haircut" award!
Hats off to Hatsumi! My haircut is far better than I had pictured it would be. She patiently listened to my interminable ramblings about what I wanted my hair to look like. She kept an easy conversation flowing the whole time, and made me, a rookie to New York styling, feel absolutely comfortable.
affordable first class color – I've been going to Megan for color since reading about TwoDo on Citysearch back in 2000. I now live in the burbs in NJ and still will only have Megan color my hair. She is worth the trip! With Megan's care I have been blonde-blonde, red and chestnut -and everything in between. I receive compliments on my color constantly (most people are surprised to hear that my hair is actually colored/highlighted b/c Megan's work is so natural.)
