The centering classes are such a great way to learn about pregnancy and childcare while building community. Plus, I was able to deliver my first baby at the birth center- such a gentle experience! My second baby was born at TMC without complications. I was prepared and supported by the midwives- thanks to the birth center! Now we see Dr Quigley as patients- so the relationship continues strong.
We had such a great experience being a part of the centering classes and giving birth at El Rio! The midwives were fantastic and everyone we’ve interacted with throughout the process have been awesome. We highly recommend giving birth here if you’re able. We even decided to use this center for our little ones pediatrician!
Excelente lugar! te hacen sentir comoda y que te entienden. hacen de tu parto una experiencia tranquila, amorosa y humanizada. ❤
I can not recommend this center more highly. Incredible experience from beginning to end. Things never go exactly as planned but I always felt safe, cared for, and listened to. I now use the midwives as my primary care providers, and go to the new parent group weekly. They have a wonderful model of inclusivity and kindness.
horrible service. i won't be go back
The wait times are long but well worth it! I have always been welcomed like an old friend and treated with warmth and compassion. They take their time to really get to know you, and to inform you. I’ve had two babies with the midwifes and felt they went above and beyond while making every effort to empower me, respect my wishes, and listen to me.
I find myself feeling really emotional when trying to express what the birth center means to me. I have had all three of my children under the care and guidance of the el rio midwives and nurses. I felt listened to, heard, and like a coauthor of my pregnancy and labor journeys. I felt like many members of the staff went above and beyond to make sure I felt safe and cared for, even calling me just to check in and see how I was feeling. I am so grateful to have this place as part of our community and my life.
I’ve had all 4 of my babies with the midwives from 2012-2018. I recommend them to anyone who is expecting. You’re not limited to birthing at the birth center, there is a hospital option as well, medicated or not! I love all of the midwives, and they really truly care about their patients and babies. Maya and Shelley are who I’ve worked with most and they’re the best!!!
