A long time ago, in the bustling town of Austin, Texas, a man named Mike Rypka bought a food trailer and a red Vespa. His dream? To start a taco joint. My husband had been wanting to go to this place because he had a fantastic experience in Denver and Austin. I was pretty hyped up about it too. The food was great, place is totally hip and cool and they pretty much kept the place very cleaned and social distanced the tables. Terrible counter service. Left before ordering.
Protecting they’re employees they don’t care about the workers they allowed my 16 year old to get harmed on they watch and threw her out like she was a dog by her neck
good tacos and fast service
Shrimp tacos were pretty good, but I have a real problem with the employees who were congregating around the drinks and behind the counter with their masks pulled down under their chin. Plus employees with food prep gloves on who kept playing with their masks. If I go back ever, it’ll be after COVID is over.

So happy that KC has a Torchy’s location! We’re from Texas and eat at Torchy’s almost every time we go back to visit. Queso is insanely good (as are the tacos, of course!) & the staff was great!

I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Torchy’s after loving it in Oklahoma. I called in a carry out order today and although it took 10 minutes to get through, I persisted. We ate our food at home and it was delicious, but after being inside the restaurant to pick it up we almost didn’t even eat it. The young woman who rang me up kept taking her mask off and going to the side of then plexiglass to speak, and I witnessed kitchen staff through the windows wearing masks around their chin.
