Excellant accommodations! Rooms were Super clean! Breakfast was great. Felt like 5 star hotel. You CANNOT beat the price. I highly recommend the Monterey Travel Lodge.
Wow! While others in our wedding party stayed at fancy hotels we chose Travelodge for no nonsense value. It exceeded our expectations. The room was modern and clean with a nostalgic feel. The continental breakfast was very good. My family and I loved the hard boiled eggs and eating at the bistro tables outside. There were many folks from Europe and Canada staying there making the feel even more special! Trader Joe's and Wild Plum are great places close by.
We arrived late and tired, staff were really friendly and made us very welcome. Gave good directions for food and beers in town, the place is nicely located -- a 10 minute walk covers everywhere you'd need to go. The place could do with a fresh coat of paint maybe, but the price, service and location beat a lot of more expensive places we stayed on our trip. As I am writing this, I am lying in a very comfy bed at the Downtown Monterey Travelodge. I am using their wi-fi, which has been pretty good for the most part. I felt compelled to write a review because my girlfriend and I arrived in San Francisco early in the morning after catching a red eye flight. We then rented a car and drove 2 hours down to Monterey. The hotel was clean, staff were very friendly and attentive. Facilities were good
My family and i stayed for 2 nights and were very pleased! The room was nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The breakfast offered each morning included 2 kinds of cereal, oatmeal, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, 3 kinds of juice, toast, and a variety of muffins. Overall this was a great place for a weekend getaway and we will visit again the next time we are in town
this is a comfortable, friendly place to stay. it seems like it would work best for couples or for low-maintenance people who just want to see the area for a couple days without spending a ton of money. the service was very friendly and personal. the room was pretty decent, clean, and comfortable. the bedding and furniture make it more pleasant and modern, but the walls and bathroom make the room look less new than you can see in the pictures. my only real complaints are that the lamps give off harsh, fluorescent light inste... read more
We had a wonderful experience at the Travelodge in Monterey. The room was pleasantly decorated and very clean. The staff was friendly and gave us great advice regarding sightseeing in the area. The breakfast was outstanding. We are definitely staying at this particular facility next time we are in the area.
Monterey is a beautiful beautiful place. It has a charming historic European kind of feel to it. The hotel is very central - walking distance to Amtrak thruway bus stop at transit plaza. You can walk easily at a slow pace to Alvarado Street, Wharf and Cannery row. The walk to cannery row was very refreshing with great views. If you are passing through Monterey, this is a great hotel.
