Stay away! – I was at The Slip Inn 3/6/2011 and the DJ playing that night was under the impression that he was in a techno bar in Las Vegas and not Dallas, TX. I paid him 7 dollars asking for him to play any Jay-Z song (very popular artist, especially in dance clubs). The guy takes my money and completely ignores my request and continues with his obscure Deadmau5 want-to-be music that nobody was dancing to or even remotely interested in. THE TRASHIEST BAR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – THIS PLACE IS THE TRASHIEST BAR I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE. IN MY LIFE! Racist – Very racist and act as if it's a very nice bar when it's not. The bouncers decide who comes in based on your race. They do not like Blacks or Hispanics. Dress code is ridiculous considering this bar isn't even nice. It'd be a different story if it were an actual NICE place. But it's not. Very pathetic bar.
Horrible Service and Staff – We tried to go to this place tonight, but our group was turned away.... Only because we tried to park in a parking spot that was apparently one of many reserved for the owner. Because we were meeting a friend to continue her birthday party, We were good sports and eventually found a parking spot three blocks away and attempted to enter the Slip. Not that great a place buddy: – Use to be a good plae a few years back but the locals have not abandoned the bar and now it's wannabbee's and fake freaks. It's done!
Not recommended – The picture looks nice right? You have heard your friends talk about raging nights they have had there. You may have also heard some horror stories. I will tell you the truth from personal experience. First of all,...that nice big, pretty booth you see back there, i guarantee you more people than you want to think of have probably gotten it on in that corner. Other than that... Good Hip Hop , Bad Staff – Great Hip Hop & Cheap Drinks but it all stops there. Manager/Owner is a real tool. I saw him get into a fist fight one night with a customer as his knuckle head bouncers threw the guy out who as far as I saw did nothing. I have seen too many bad actions from the staff here to believe this was the first time for this looser. Meet ya at tha Slip! – I LOVE this place! The music is always right on point, everyone is there is have a good time. The variety and diversity of people is awesome. You will always meet new people and see old friends here. The bartenders are fun and personable. The security here is good too. Bouncers Committed Assault – My husband and I were there for about 5 minutes. In that time, my husband ordered a beer. The bartender yelled at him, "you have to pay for that." and my husband pointed to the $5 he had placed on the bar. The bartender grabbed it and then two bouncers grabbed my husband, carried him outside, threw him on the ground, where one guy held his face in the concrete, one sat on his back, and the other kicked him in the ribs.
