Soooooo, your Santa denied a child a visit with Santa because she had a service dog that happened to be a pit bull. This man crushed a disabled child heart because of bias towards a wonderful breed. This reflects very very poorly on you, his employer. In the future I would hope that you have a established code of conduct for your employees to uphold regardless of wether they are hired by your HR or they are a contracted service. So what I'd like to know is what do you plan to do about this situation to make it right.
I don't know how your Santa can live with himself after seeing the utter devastation he caused in a young girl with special needs. I don't know how your members of management can sleep at night knowing the heartbreak that child suffered. Has this Santa been replaced? Have you offered an apology, either publicly or privately? Shame on you.
Your mall Santa destroyed a little girl's dream to spend 1 minute of her time with Santa so she could find out what he wanted for Christmas so she could make it for him . Instead he refused to see her because her service dog was a Pitbull. He would not even see her when they offered to take the dog completly out of the mall so she could see him. Shame on you for hiring ignorant Santas that discriminate against children with service dogs!!! FYI- service dogs do NOT eat people! FYI - service dogs are highly trained & obviously more intelligent then your employees.
The "Santa" at the mall refused to see a child because her service dog (she's autistic) is a pit bull. The parents offered to take the dog out of the mall and "Santa " still refused because the parents support "those dogs". Then the parents asked if the child cold just stand at the gate and have him wink and wave to her. Again, he refused. Not only is this against the law, it is just a poor representation of this mall. The mall Santa refused to see a young girl with a service dog because her service dog happened to be a pittie. Not only was it illegal, but incredibly cruel and heartless.
Hope your mall does something for the little girl who was refused a visit with Santa today. Service dogs receive special training and not all dogs can be service dogs. These dogs are working. Would this have happened if it was a Labrador or different breed. Most likely not.
I'm not even from your country, but if I were, believe me I would NEVER put my feet in a place that doesn't give a child the chance to speak with santa just because her service dog is a pitbul. Have you got no shame?? I have friends and family that live there so I'll make sure they know and they pass the message. You should be ashamed.
