History Established in 1920. The Ship has been around since the early 1900's the exact date is unknown- We were originally located in a building that stood where John's Market presently is. We moved to our current location in 1946 where we've been movin' and shakin' ever since. Over the last several decades we've gone from having only one beer on tap and just a few in the cooler to our present selection of over 60+ beers both bottled and on draft, not to mention our currently expanding liquor selection. Great drink specials, entertaining games, lively community, and a comedy show to boot. I had a great time

Had a great time watching the cubs win the world series. I live in Chicago and was in Portland for business. So happy the Ship made me feel like I was back home!
If you miss Chicago dives, you'll feel right at home. Plenty of screens for sports. And an impressive selection of craft brews on tap to make it Portland style. Great neighborhood bar in my favorite neighborhood on the west side. If the Cubs are playing, don't even consider a plan B. Make a beeline, get there early, count yourself among the blessed.
Great time on Halloween 2016! Hard to keep the coffee drinks rolling but they were really busy so not faulting them for it.
