About this business

The Second Line, a sister concern of the swanky, neighboring Iris, is located on Monroe Avenue in East Memphis. Named for the traditional brass band parade of New Orleans, the vibrant and casual eatery offers an eclectic N'awlins-style cuisine with many Creole and Cajun preparations. Expect to find a fabulous range of po boys, crawfish and catfish dishes here each done up and served with an endearing honesty. The oyster poboy is a little piece of Nola in the Bluff City. Wonderful food and supurb service. Great late Saturday afternoon meal.

Excellent food, atmosphere & service. Memphis is truly fortunate to have a restaurant like this here in the 901.

Great food. We went on a Tuesday night after Christmas and it was packed. Did not disappoint.

We are originally from Louisiana and love the food from New Orleans. The poboys (we had shrimp and roast beef) are as good as any we've had down there, and we've had Mother's and Johnny's. The red beans and rice were good too! This has made it on our must eat places when we visit Memphis!

The service was excellent the atmosphere was good the food was just OK. Nothing special or exciting as we were led to believe. They do have lots of good choices the sandwiches were good not great the two appetizers we had the barbecue shrimp and the gumbo we're both good but the gumbo have a slight metallic taste to it probably from the pans it was served in. We had the Verno which is a chicken thigh Po boy and the roast beef Po boy. The Verno was not good at all very marginal. The roast beef Po boy was very juicy and good l... read more

Food was and is always awesome. Menu cocktails have very little alcohol for the price. I would suggest beer or a custom mixed drink.
