The Red Room offers an inventive tapas menu rooted in Spanish cuisine, with hints of flavors from all corners of the world. Our traditional paella is celebrated for its authentic flavor, inspired by Spain's open-air food markets, while our popular shrimp ceviche and gourmet flatbreads represent perfect gourmet fusion. Chef Marshall Smith says he wants customers to walk away satisfied after trying his creative and innovative menu. And a tapas menu isn't complete without a homemade sangria list–including traditional vari... read more

Red Room seems to be good ... Fall 2010 – Closed since Fall 2011
Food Average, Service Great – I have been to Red Room a few times, but the latest visit was the first time we had ordered food. Beautiful evening, so sat outside - able to get our "people watching" on. Overall, a decent atmosphere. They had some sangria specials, but we stuck to beer and wine - which was fine. Our server was excellent - returned with the right frequency, knew the menu and specials well and just seemed on top of it. Food - They say 2-3 tapas person is sufficient, and we ordered 4 tapas and a flatbread - figur... read more
Great food and serive on several occasions – My husband and I have visited Red Room on a number of occasions, sometimes with a group but mostly just the two of us. Each time we've been, we've ordered exclusively from the tapas menu and been extremely pleased with the portion sizes and flavor of the food. Our waitresses have always been knowledgeable and friendly. My bachelorette party was also held at Red Room and we were seated at the couches, where we had a wonderful time. We also ordered a seafood paella and were THRILLED... read more
Pretty Good – Food, and service was pretty good. After 11 pm you might want to head somewhere else. Pretty rough crowd.
Best place on Glenwood – I love this place, great atmosphere, excellent tapas, and a nice patio. The spinach and feta dip is certianly the best I've ever had....you must try it! their waitstaff is hit or miss.....weekend crowd can get in the way of a nice dinner, but this shouldn't deter a visit!
Great environment, helpful service – I recently went to the Red Room for the first time and was absolutely charmed by the place. I loved the whole idea of the tapas lounge and the ambiance that accompanied it to fit the downtown night scene. When I was having trouble picking from the list of mostly Spanish wines, our waitress spoke with us for several minutes before recommending the perfect bottle for our table. We will definitely be back soon!
Best patio in Raleigh, love the food – My friends and I recently went to the Red Room. The restaurant/bar is a very cool lounge and nightspot whose Spanish twist brings a posh, yet eclectic feel to it. It was nice out, so we sit on the side patio that is right alongside Glenwood Avenue and shared some good wine and delicious tapas. It’s the perfect place to hang out and have a light meal/snack and a couple of drinks, and be a part of a different environment than your typical college bar scene. The servers were very friendly ... read more
Even better than before! – Love the atmosphere here. Great decor and music. Service is top-notch. Recently they went 100% smoke-free, even in the bar...major plus! Food is very tasty...Spanish-inspired food but creative with various flavors from all over. Never had a bland meal here, and it seems they keep getting better. Price-wise, it depends what you order. For a table of two, we got a shrimp ceviche appetizer, shared a big tasty goat cheese salad, and then split a half-pan of veggie paella....all for under $35 for the tw... read more
Rude Staff – I have been to the Red Room before and have never had a problem. I guess that is because I have never ordered a drink before, usually being the "DD". I understand that the bartenders are busy but they can still be friendly. I ordered my first drink and everything was fine. I go to the bar to order my second drink ( the same drink as last time) and I am charged a totally different amount (a higher amount). I tell the bartender that it is different and just happen to have kept my receipt from the last drink and sh... read more
