So the rumors were true. Let's kick out all the lower income families and turn it into more profit for the University and it's affiliates! Yay gentrification! Iowa City doesn't care about its lower income families. This town is so screwed up. So many families were kicked out of one of the few places for lower income families. Also just so everyone knows the apartments that used to be here had cockroaches so don't be surprised if they come back! College kids can be real slobs!
Lived next to Rose Oaks (Lakeside) nearly my entire life. So many families were evicted to make these ridiculous apartments with very little notice. I'm sorry but the U of I is destroying this town and catering only to college students who will only live here 2-8 years... My question is, where did all the families who got evicted go? This was one of the cheapest living options in town.. But hey, screw the people if you can make a bunch of money off rich college kids huh? What a joke.
