The Plaid Apron is the brainchild of Drew and Bonnie McDonald and you can see their labor of love across this warm and friendly cafe-restaurant. The modern artworks of farm animals and mason jar pendants adorning their walls is pleasing to the eye. But it is their farm-to-table menu that has got patrons coming back all the time. No wonder then it is a popular breakfast and brunch spot. Savor their dishes like Sausage Omelet, Eggs Benedict, Smoked Beef, Chicken Thighs, Rib Tips and Cheesy Grits. Really great breakfast! Love the casual atmosphere.
A simply wonderful cafe, I have been there several times. Matter of fact, every time I have visited Knoxville we go for brunch. It's on the top of our list to do while in town. Every dish I have had was bursting with flavor, I had the morning special which was a pancake, sausage and egg stacked together. I thought these TN folks were crazy, however the dish was amazing!!! Kudos to the cook and the family who manage and own this cafe.
Not impressed could of been a better first time. Told the cashier no help . not planning on going back.
It is so hard to find a good gluten free baked good. This morning I had a muffin. This evening I am geeking out on their chocolate almond cookie. Their gluten free treats are the best I have tried in Knoxville! We will be back for sure!
Certainly one of Knoxville's Top 5 restaurants. There's a steady hand at the helm here. Every dish I've had has been bursting with flavor and imagination!
This is the first place that I have ever seen tunneling occur in an omelet. I could see the sausage through hundreds of tiny tunnels. That griddle had to be way too hot! Had to eat outside as there is nothing inside to absorb any sound. Nasty for those who wear hearing aides. So disappointed as I had heard good things.
