Came to Packing House tonight. Waited for ever. The poor guy waiting on us was trying to do his best but he was busboy bartender waiter and cook. We felt very sorry for him. The manager needs to make sure that they have enough waitstaff to serve the customers. So we are not blaming the waiter we are blaming the manager for giving too many people the night off. The Packinghouse has been my favorite area restaurant for years. Living in Burlington, Iowa I haven’t been there for awhile...the food was just as delicious as ever. I had NY Strip cooked to perfection! The salad bar has a very good variety of salads to choose from. And of course they have THE best cinnamon rolls I have ever eaten!
The steaks we had were nothing fantastic for the price. Kept feeling rushed by staff to leave our table. Salad bar and cinnamon rolls were good.
We came in tonight with a party, and everyone was wonderful! This was my first time here and I was blown away by the care they took to make our time pleasant. Larry was 100% accommodating, they even went out to get us mint for mint juleps! The bartender was great, thanks for humoring us!! Our drinks were filled nonstop, and the service and food was great. Thanks for making my Grandmas 80th Bday Fabulous!!

The service here was really terrible, and the food was mediocre. This restaurant is nothing like I remember it in the past.
The salad bar was delicious. I don't usually go for anything but tossed salad, but they had a good variety of salads that we're very tasty. I ordered the prime rib, and it was the best I've ever had. Very tender and cooked perfectly. My husband had the blue cheese smothered sirloin and that was delicious as well. We'll be back!
