The hippest place in Baltimore to see an alternative rock band is this scruffy, but chic, midtown establishment. The bar itself is very small, so many patrons stand or sit in front of the tiny stage, or wander around the multi-colored second and third floors. The bands are either unsigned locals or independent-label acts. All play loud and fast.

Saw Nada Surf last night. Great show, chill staff, upstairs area is cozy. Holds a special spot for us. We had our first date there, so it's always fun to go back.
LOVE Ottobar! It is now and ever shall be home to GIAC!! Couldn't be more proud to claim it ours!!!
Thanks for hosting school of Rock ! So cool to see the kids Rocking out ! I'm sure I'll be back.
Nasty place , sound systems sucks , staff was terrible , cold as hell
Rad venue. Reminded me of the old Emo's in Austin...minus the rats on the rafters. Also like that they have an upstairs seating area for us old folk who don't want to deal with standing for two hours behind a 6'4 dude.
Great venue for performances. Could use some major sanitizing in the ladies' room, especially around the faucet in the sink. Would have given 4 stars if the bathroom sink were cleaner.
The Ottobar has a 4.5 star rating with 2,710 reviews.
The Ottobar is open now. It will close at 6:00 p.m.
