Fantastic food only to be surpassed by the service!
We had the best experience last night at the Optimist. From the minute we drove up and we treated by the nice guy with the mirrored RAYBANS. Doug, our server was excellent, explaining the menu to perfection. The rest of the staff was very attentive and nice. We were very impressed that we had 2 of the management team stop by to check on us. Oh....the food....excellent. We had the halibut and scallops. Needless to say we will be returning on our next trip to visit our son.
The food was excellent! And the atmosphere was delightful...
I'd come every week if I lived in Atl. Amazing place.

The atmosphere was fantastic. The wait staff was on point and spaced out the food so it wasn't forced on you right after another.
The Optimist is one of my favorite restaurants. The hush puppies are life changing. The service is as elevated as the food.
I've been several times and it's great food. I went yesterday to crab boil and was disappointed in the lack of preparation for the event. Food ran out in 45 minutes and lines were too long.
Delicious! All the different kinds of oysters and the scallops were perfect. Definitely will be back.
