Not worth it The unit itself is fine, however my kitchen cabinets started to peel about a year in as did the walls in my bathroom (maintenance said from the steam, yet did not offer to repaint it for me). I agree with another reviewer that the amenity fee is high considering the amenities aren’t spectacular and you can’t use the outdoor courtyards out of season. To me, this is unreasonable because you are literally living in the middle of the swamp off of Route 3. The outdoor space should be available, weather permitting. I ... read more
Worst management team They're basically trying to rip off your money as possible. the apartment itself look luxury from outside, but in reality other than the appliances in the kitchen, nothing in here is as luxury as they advertise. They want you to pay fee for everything. They don't return the security deposit at the end and say they have taken it out for several of the fee that they don't even invoice you for. I was waiting for the lease to be over so I can get out asap.
Many pros & Cons I Lived here for 13 months - overall I don't have many complaints about the ACTUAL apartment. My complaints: Raised the rent $300 effectively after a year. I got a free month originally, and when it was time to renew, they did not take that into account and just did a standard % on the actual rent per month, leading to an unwarranted increase. The "amenity fee" ($600 per year year apt) is unreasonable - the gym is little, the pool season is way too short, and they close out the terrace on a set date EVEN whe... read more
Check It out If You Want to Live in a Hotel It's OK. As with all apartments, there are pros and cons. The oven is really nice. The high ceilings and windows are great. The place is pet friendly and the concierges are very nice. The sound proofing is very good, too. The HVAC unit isn't very effective in the summer when it's humid, the floors are laminate and not hard-wood, and I hate that if your apartment faces a terrace, the orange outdoor lights shine into your bedroom at night so it's never dark. The amenities are nice, b... read more
Flash Trumps Function at The Monarch I will start with my objective observations. Please excuse me if I'm jumping from one thing to the next. The building, its units, and the common spaces are lovely. The appliances are really good quality. The ceilings are high and the windows are huge. The soundproofing is phenomenal. The balconies are a nice decent size and if you land a terrace, even better, because they're huge. Aesthetically, The Monarch is super nice. The fees aren't unreasonable compared to other buildings in the NYC... read more
