Founded by David Dettloff in October 1995, The Ink Lab features experienced, award winning tattoo artists and body piercers from around the world. Located in the heart of the Uptown neighborhood. Our shop is clean, friendly and drug free, all of our artists and piercers are licensed by the state of Minnesota and regulated by the Minneapolis Department of Environmental Health.

I came here many many years ago to get my first piercing. Shortly after I returned for another piercing. A couple of days ago I went there to get new earrings for my conch and rook. Today I had to go back to get help putting on the ball to secure my earring cos I had to take it out for my MRI. Not only was the piercer fabulous, awesome customer service was provided each and every time. Thank you. There's a reason I chose your business in the first place and will be a returning customer.

This is the second tattoo that I've had done by David Dettloff and as always he was very professional and did an amazing job. I highly recommend going to the Ink Lab for any ink work.
For my 40th Birthday, a group of my closest friends and I made appointments with Rodney to get our 1st tattoos. Rodney was incredible to work with. He took the time to meet with each of us, review our designs, and make our first tattoo experience a positive one. He made sure to explain everything that he would be doing. His calm demeanor put any anxiety of pain at ease. The working space was clean and sterile as well. Got my first tattoo there in 1998 from Adam....... but with my convicted domestic abuser there as a piercer... no chance in hell of ever going back.
