Founded by David Dettloff in October 1995, The Ink Lab features experienced, award winning tattoo artists and body piercers from around the world. Located in the heart of the Uptown neighborhood. Our shop is clean, friendly and drug free, all of our artists and piercers are licensed by the state of Minnesota and regulated by the Minneapolis Department of Environmental Health.

Got my first colored tattoo one I’ve been wanting for about a year. I couldn’t be more happy about it remedy rook did a great job and very thoughtful on how i was feeling and doing thru out the whole tattoo thanks so much for a wonderful experience and an awesome tattoo.

I have a back piece in progress from Rodney, and it's more amazing than I ever had pictured. I gave him a concept and with every session he is blowing my damn mind. A long journey until it's finished but I'm stoked to see the end result!

This is a quiet laid back shop. The employees feal like family. When you get work done you are included in that experience. I spent 7 hours with Rodney and am extremely pleased with the results. He did a cover up with limited direction and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I think he could easily charge double for emotional counseling while making his art. A great experience. I will be back.
