Amazing food and service! Everything we ordered was great! They have the best grits!
We just had dessert and beverages but we loved it. We liked the atmosphere and we can't wait to go back and have a full meal.
Our favorite place to eat when visiting SSI. We come to SSI once a month and always stop at The Half Shell! Great food, friendly, fast service and the best oyster shooters I've ever had! My favorite is the new spicy one, vodka, Bloody Mary mix, horseradish, Texas Pete and an Old Bay rim!!
This place is amazing! We ate there 2 nights in a row. It's rated #2 on Yelp. When you start at the top, it's hard to try any place different. Ha! We struggled to find another place to try on the island but just couldn't bring ourselves to it. The food and service brought us back! The Cajun oysters are the bomb, the shrimp was delish, they have fabulous ranch dressing, the cheese grits are out of this world, and the butter cake, oh my the butter cake, melts in your mouth! Yummo! We will be back!

Out of every meal I've had while visiting SSI, this was by far the best. Even though we were told we would have a 20-25 minute wait, we didn't even order drinks before we were seated. Our server, James, was friendly, funny, and very attentive! The best oysters I've had on SSI! Shrimp and grits, as well as the catch of the day, BACON WRAPPED GREEN BEANS!!, AND fries were amazing, but the Butter Cake was by far the most unexpectedly delicious dessert ever! The best oysters I have ever eaten! We ordered half a dozen of the Cajun oysters and loved them so much we ended up ordering another half a dozen!
The food is excellent!!!!!! Will definitely be back next year!!
