About this business

The dark, cozy ambiance here is popular among lovers, but the food and wine are the real stars. The menu changes bi-monthly, so there is always some new delight to try. Relax in the softly lit room or choose a patio table to observe the action on Lower Greenville. Lunch favorites include the quiche lorraine and walnut sea bass. Popular dinner entrees include the braised lamb shank and beef tenderloin. Cream of mushroom soup is a favorite starter. The wine list has over 100 offerings with several reasonably priced selections.

Very Good Wine Bar – I went to The Grape and was highly impressed. The small intinate ambience was exactly what i was looking for when i was looking for places for a great 3rd date. SOme of the reviews made me a little concerned, but the serivce and food were both great. I had the short ribs which were the most tender i ever had and my date had the pasta dish which was also very tasty. To start we split the butternut squash ravioli. Not one bad word to say. Dont let some of the not so great reviews deter you.

Quality service dependent on volume of customers – Location excellent service was good at start of meal but declined as the place filled up. Food was average, dishes of note were lamb tartines and mussels. As a repeat customer I was disappointed.

AMAZING Cuisine – Although I agree that the service is slow, it is totally worth your time. The food is absolutely delicious, and I have been in love with this place ever since my first visit last month. My table was outside and very romantic, despite being elbow-to-elbow with other tables...you'll find some of the typical Dallas weirdos having their usual conversations, but all that blends into the background once you start with the appetizer and a nice glass of red wine. If you've never had duck and always wanted to try , ... read more

Used to be good but not anymore...Disappointed – The Grape claims to change their menu frequently but I haven't seen a change for over a year. I guess the change is putting a new header on the menu Fall 2008 or Spring 09. The red wine is warm and served at around 80 degrees, they should know better. The female owner was overheard the whole evening talking about staffing issues and then on the telephone in the middle of the dining area. Why not talk in the back...i dont want to hear it. The tall dark hair waitress was a slow ... read more

Scruptious food... dissapointing delivery... needs to be "dinged" a couple stars – The food is good... no doubt (very good). Very unique and very french... typically foodie place that is normally right up my alley. Unfortunately for my experience, The Grape was was a dud. Service was ssssllooooow... water and wine glasses stayed empty for 2 courses... hellooooo!?!? I definitely enjoyed hearing the table next to us talk about "15 pound curl ups" for 45 minutes... certainly more interesting than what I had to say to my spouse ... read more

The Grape has been closed for lunch since September, when the new owners took over. The old management and it's mentality are gone. The new owners have worked fervently to return this gem to it's original luster. If you have not visited since the Luschers have taken the keys, you are missing out on one of Dallas' best restaurants. Leave them a message, I bet they will call you back...

Dissapointing, Customer service very bad – I dined here for lunch a few times. A little pricy, but the food is ok. It is fairly near where I work. The service is slow, and the last time I was there they charged me TWICE for my meal. I called and left several messages for the manager, and even sent a few emails. NO ONE has responded. My advice to you...If you do decide to dine here, BRING CASH, otherwise you may be ripped off, and getting someone to call you back is impossible.

Great Atmosphere, Great Taste, Great Date! – My girlfriend and I went here tonight for dinner on our 1 year anniversary. We loved it! It has a great atmosphere, which is one of the things it is well known for. Very nice if you're looking for a combination of romantic, quaint and still somewhat casual. A very good place for fish! We had calamari for an appetizer. The texture was wonderful and it comes with a very good spicy (cayenne?) sweet and sour sauce. I had the monkfish and she had the kona kampachi, both excellent. Pers... read more

Awesome mushroom soup – It's a shame that the transition of new ownership has cast a negative on The Grape. I've been going to the grape for the past 12 years and have always considered it a hands down favorite. I have eaten there since the ownership has changed and found Brian and Courtney to be extremely eager to "keep up the pace". The food was awesome, the service was not at all what I've read in reviews. We felt appreciated as patrons and well served as we enjoyed just another fabulous meal at The Grape. For you nay-say... read more
