As a replica of Bent's Fort, it's a cultural crossroads on the historic Santa Fe Trail. This area institution, which has been reviewed in the New York Times, serves up southwestern fare to everyone from lounging locals to heads of state including President Clinton during 1997's economic summit. Scrumptious servings of buffalo and elk tantalize the tongue. More traditional fare like salmon, filet mignon and even a vegetarian plate is also available. Open Monday to Friday at 5:30pm and at 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The food was excellent but, we felt rushed to order and, to finish appetizers so they could start our salad and main course.
Excellent everything! Great food, drinks, AND service!

My husband and I have been to The Fort two times and love the atmosphere, food and service.
We had an amazing dinner, we were able to order a bunch of different meats that are unusual to most steak houses. Our server was amazing. We will definitely visit again.
