As a replica of Bent's Fort, it's a cultural crossroads on the historic Santa Fe Trail. This area institution, which has been reviewed in the New York Times, serves up southwestern fare to everyone from lounging locals to heads of state including President Clinton during 1997's economic summit. Scrumptious servings of buffalo and elk tantalize the tongue. More traditional fare like salmon, filet mignon and even a vegetarian plate is also available. Open Monday to Friday at 5:30pm and at 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The experience and view were extraordinary. The food was delicious. Had Rocky Mountain oysters, the filet and the game plate.

Ambiance was great, Kyle and Ryan were an awesome team, husband could have ordered one of everything on the menu. A must do if you visit Denver!

Thanks for sharing your kind review, Julie. I do hope you'll join us again in the near future.
We LOVE The Fort! It's always been a fantasic experience, each time we visit (usually once a year for a social occasion). The food is phenomenal. From the very basic homemade guacamole, that is cool, creamy, with a tiny bite that sneaks up on you at the end, not enough to be uncomfortable, just enough to leave you wanting more... to the Game Plates which my dad always gets; giving him a little chance to try everything: Elk, Bison, Rocky Mountain Oysters, marrow, Bison Ribs, Tongue... believe me you can find it all here! The service was horrible for the menu price. Our reservation was set for 7:30pm. It took 45 minutes just to get the server to bring us a dinner menu. FYI Fort, when a customer comes in with a newborn baby you don't neglect the table and turn dinner into a 3 hour event. Denver has many restaurants that offers good beef and bison, will not return or recommend.

Thanks for writing a review, Deborah! We look forward to welcoming you back to The Fort for more shinin' times.
Too much money for what you get, my husband and I paid $160 and it wasn't good, I would rather have Pho for $6.70 the bowl. The dessert was horrible, poor service. I don't think we will be back.
Business response:

"The Fort" In Red Rocks, CO - most exclusive wild game restaurant in the Denver area. Food was great! Had split the combo of quail, bison and an elk bone in chop with potato and veg and secondly had garlic leak mashed potato, campfire beans and buffalo smoked ribs with Jack Daniels BBQ sauce - hello falling off the bone!!! By the way - our app was the buffalo bone marrow - just yum and don't tell my doctor!! If Brian is your waiter feel blessed!!
Business response:
