They are doing construction and the children are now taken to the regular hospital to pre op . Two hours of pre op in a hospital not designed for children. No toys and sitting next to a man vomiting. Next day was surgery. We have been here for over three hours with a three year old waiting . Again , not a single toy. A tv with no sound for three hours . my son gets admitted often for lung issues and each time he does the drs and nurses are beyond sweet to him, they make sure to explain to him whats going on. i love the way the treat us when we have to stay there
my granddaughter was born with a rare condition and I am so pleased with everyone. They did amazing work each day. Giving us information needed. Today my granddaughter was transported to Texas childrens hospital. and again the compassion they showed to my family was blissful.
The nurses, drs, rts, and all the support staff are usually nice, friendly, personable, and approachable. My son is hospitalized often and I’ve rarely come across a person that I didn’t get on well with. The most important thing to me is them listening to my concerns, wants, and needs concerning my son. That’s seems to be very important to the Children’s hospital as well.
It really depends on what department and which shift you get. The ER has seemed like a joke. I took my son Saturday and was told he just had a virus and would be fine then he ended up sent Thursday from his pediatrician by ambulance to the Er for pneumonia. The ER physicians assistant who saw him said his lungs sounded clear but would get xrays since his pediatrician thought he had pneumonia well guess what he had pneumonia. The ER was quick and efficient. The nurses and doctors took excellent care of my son during his stay.
