I made reservation for a New Year brunch/high tea far in advance. Unfortunately my husband got sick and I had to call to try to reschedule my reservation. First of all cancellation policy is far from being fair . You are charged full price of the brunch you cannot attend ($40/person) and since the place is always busy, they would give your table to someone else of course. First time staying there. Maybe just bad luck due to it being new years eve but for me it was a bit of a downer. 2 hour plus wait for a room i reserved 2 months in advanced, busted curtain, and late night menu was very lack luster. the burger we ordered was actually raw on the inside. the shower was amazing, the room was beautiful, and the staff were helpful resolving our problems and taking care of the car and even discounted the final price dramatically. decent experience, but for the price i will unfortunately will not re... read more
I love this place.. the only bad thing I have to say about this is that it is REALLY HARD to get a wheel chair in the bathroom near the Ship’ Tavern. The door is really heavy and pulls inward which makes it hard for someone in a wheel chair to get out. Fortunately, someone held the door so I could get my mom out.
The place is a dream. The decor, the service, the carolers andmusicians, the Churchill lounge, the nostalgia, the beautiful people. It's a wonder.
The Brown Palace is extraordinarily wonderful! My daughters and I come for Christmas tea every year, and feel spoiled by the beautiful, delicious tower of finger sandwiches, scones, and treats, and the footed silver bowl full of Devonshire creme! The lobby is resplendent with a tall Christmas tree that reaches up to the glorious two-story tall chandelier which is also decorated with twinkling lights as well as crystals. The live piano music adds to the magical atmosphere. We LOVE.coming here for any occasion!
