Best service in Hollywood. Best atmosphere in the City. – Love it here. When you're sharing conversation with your neighboring table, having fun with your waitress, eating the best burger in town in a hip but subtle place, life is good. Oh, and more types of drinks than a liquor store!!!!
Something's Not Right – I really enjoyed The Bowery, and have gone many times after work. But, I am totally disappointed in my experience tonight. It was fine until I cashed out. The bill was charged to my card (there were 8 of us) and I tipped the waitress 20% in cash. I gave her the signed credit card slip and the cash in the bill fold. Somehow the cash disappeared after I handed it directly to her. Awesome – This place totally rocks. I was visiting LA on business. I am a native New Yorker and I was longing for a place that reminded me of home and I was thristing for a tasty burger. Mediocre, at best – I was disappointed. I didn't mind that the place was small and crowded - after all, it's Hollywood - but the food wasn't good at all, and certainly not worth the expensive price. I liked the onion rings, and the sweet potato fries were okay (but missing the sweet potato taste). My short ribs, on the other hand, were in dire need of some salt, and tasted more like a flavorless stew than tasty ribs. The accompanying mashed potatoes were bland. great neighborhood bar – I agree with the other person who said it was an 'Unpretentious Hollywood Hangout'. I met the owner of the bar, who was very friendly. The atmosphere was very casual, but had great ambiance. I will definitely be back soon.
Food fetish – The service here was great. Everyone was so nice - and after eating the food, the experience simply got better. We tried a nice selection of meats and cheese and then we both had the burger. One word - Addictive. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu, or maybe another burger :)
Nice place, okay food – The staff here are incredible - they're friendly, fast, know the menu and are generally angels. The food is okay - it's not great, but it's not terrible, either; ditto the wine list. I'd recommend this place - it's terrific for lunch, and I'll go back just for the wonderful staff.
Unpretentious Hollywood Hangout – Went for drinks on a Saturday night and immensely enjoyed ourselves. It's so refreshing to see something cool and hip but n ot trendy in the heart of Hollywood. It reminded me of a bar in the east coast. People were there really to really just enjoy themselves and have a great time. We sat by the bar and met the head bartender, who was just adorable!!! He gave us all his attention and even recommended his creation, the Ambrosia, which is a white cosmo. We wished we could've stayed longer!
Charming, Cool, & Cozy – My girlfriends and I stopped in last week and we're addicted. The food was great - yummy burgers and we all loved sharing the shrimp - and the waiter was so nice. We've been back twice already - once for dinner and again for late night drinks. Lots of fun!
