Several years ago, I worked for the public works department in Southernview Illinois & all of us employees asked the local teamsters to join. At first they said yes, you folks need the protection from the village board, but when the village board & village lawyer stood up to the teamsters, the teamsters left us hanging & RAN in the other direction!! been a member of local 385 in Orlando Florida for 10 years. when they passed our new contract in January, without letting all members vote, they opted to throw seniority out and let junior employees bid on vacation first because more juniors than seniors. After that several of the senior drivers quit the union in February. Here it is the end of August and they are still taking dues out on all id us. In my opinion they are nothing but thugs and thieves
If I was a teamster I would lose 3. 25 an hour
