Best Cannelloni anywhere – Tavola Rossa is a comfortable italian restaurant where you can where shorts and sneakers or a sportscoat. It is good for a family gathering or a date. The bar area is relaxing with 2 flat screens and some fun bartenders to serve you. The dining room servers have always given us excellent service and the food has always been exceptional. Since it is located behind Crabtree Mall, it is a great place to escape to, after a long afternoon of shopping.
canneloni is amazing along with Fresh fish – I recently visited this restaurant for the first time and definetly will be returning. The person greeting me at the door was friendly and quickly seated us on the patio. The waiter was there within a few minutes and suggested some very nice entrees along with wines since on Monday's they are currently giving 50% off their bottles. The food was done well. We had the canneloni which we were told is their most popular dish along with a blackened seabass. The desserts were classic an... read more
Worst Customer Service – Anatomy of a Disaster: We entered the restaurant on 6/18 at approx 5:14 pm and were pleasantly greeted and seated by Maitre'd (party of 2). I made eye contact and smiled at a waiter who was behind a counter, folding napkins-glad that we did because that would be the first and only acknowledgement we would receive from the wait staff during our visit. There were approx 10-15 people in restaurant, about 4-5 groups. I sat and talked with fiancee for approx 2-3 mins while perusing the menu. Maitre'd retu... read more
Terrible Service and Food – Snooty sommelier, inattentive waitress. Although I wasn't in charge of our party of 12, I had to continually request that our water glasses be filled and plates cleared. I ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked wrong twice. I decided to wait for dessert as they clearly do not know how to cook a steak here. The manager came over to offer his apologies and to let me know that the next time my hubby and I come in to eat to ask for "Russ" and he will "personally supervise our meal." No thanks. I can co... read more
Valentine's Day – My wife and I ate at Tavola Rossa for Valentine's day, after a great experience on V-day 2005. Both times we ordered the prix-fixe menu. Although I could have done without the carpaccio (just a personal preference), the salad, lobster ravioli, and dessert were all very good. The price (around $100 including tip) included a bottle of wine, but I'm no sommelier so I can't comment on it's quality. We were fortunately seated in the more private area to the left of the main dining room, a definite step up from l... read more
Italian Disgrace – While being seated, we realized that we would have no privacy. The layout of the dining room was cramped. I noticed around the room that other parties seemed uncomfortable with the seating also. After ordering, we waited 1 hour and 25 minutes before the food arrived. During which time, we saw our waiter only 3 times. We had to ask the manager to refill our glasses. After eating, we explained to the manager that our check was improperly charged. In reconciling the charge, the manager felt the need to try to... read more
Stay Away – I just can't believe the above reviews. The place looks nice and is well laid out, but that's about it. First off, the place was freezing cold (early lunchtime). The service was downright terrible - the kid brought me the wrong dish and then instead of explaining his error, he simply rips the plate from me without a word and scurries back ten minutes later with the right one when my group is half done already. My water glass remained empty, we had to beg for more bread, never got the cheese I asked for and we wer... read more
Don't Miss This Gem – We have dined here at least 5l times. It is now one of our favorites. Well worth the drive from our home across town. The quality of the food is always excellent and the service is friendly. Usually reservations aren't necessary on a week-night but are a good idea on the week-end. A nice variety to choose from on the menu. The lamb must be the best in town! However, all of the dishes we have tired have been fabulous. The ambience is up-scale but casual dress is comfortable. I think they should think abo... read more
Great Evening Out!! – We did not have a reservation and though it was the Saturday before Valentine's Day, they fit us in without question. The manager an duty was great, service was quick and friendly. The food was very good. Multiple options in the $10-$25 range. Everyone in our party of 4 was very pleased. I heartily recommend the Eggplant Lasagna, the Chocolate-Peanut Butter Bomb for dessert, and La Pina (a Mojito varient) for a nice drink. Will look forward to a return trip!
