Visited Tavern on the Green for dinner while visiting New York on a family vacation. Everything was amazing!!

Excellent service! Superior management! A classic New York restaurant that thankfully has remained. Oh and every day a different type of birthday cake is on the menu!
We visited Tavern on the Green for the first time 12/28/16. Restaurant was beautiful. My lunch was the BLT salad and skirt steak ($29). Both were delicious! It was a little pricey for us considering a wedge salad with bacon crumbles and chopped tomatoes was $16 but at least it was tasty. Would def recommend the restaurant to friends and family to try. My husband got the shaved sirloin steak sandwich which was very good too ($29).
Idyllic, iconic -- just as it could be, as it should be, and as it is. I recently rediscovered Tavern on the Green after its hiatus, and it's now returned as my unexpected, NY "go to" destination... for a drink, for client entertainment, or a meal with an in- or out-of-town family/friend visitor. So when I'm at Columbus Circle, Lincoln Center or the Upper West Side, this is an option that must be considered.
This has been a family tradition since I was a little girl. I was so happy to finally share this tradition with kids of my own. They loved the whole experience. Great food, beyond exceptional service by Paulina. Will visit again on our next vacation back to NY. The online reservation was very handy and when we wanted to change our reservation the day of, they were easily accommodating.
Building was beautiful. Service was slow and food really was not good and overpriced. Just my opinion.
We had a great family Christmas Eve experience. The staff, the ambience and holiday decorations matched the Holiday spirit!
