Dr. Spirtos performed exploratory abdominal surgery and a hysterectomy on me to remove endometriosis. I ended up with lifelong, debilitating gastrointestinal dysfunction and an inability to digest food. It’s like living with chronic food poisoning. Tanya Spirtos has been my doctor for almost 2 decades. I would hate the day she retires. She is thorough, provides you with alternatives regarding treatment options; she is very knowledgable and skilled and most of all caring. She would contact you to follow up after test results and discuss them with you. She is a very busy doctor, rightfully so, she's very good. Those people who gave her bad reviews.. "barks at you" etc, no compassion do not know about people skills.
Brilliant woman w/ dangerous Achilles heel of hubris. I was provided incorrect medical advice on several occasions w/ reference to fertility, surgical options & medication. Second & third opinions have proved the lack of accuracy in her evaluations, and in one case, laws governing medication proved her error. This doctor's bedside manner & ego preclude her from providing safe medical care to me, and her advice presented as irrefutable fact cost me years of time unaware of my options elsewhere.
A good surgeon, but lacks compassion and barks at you. If you need surgery, go to her. Find someone nicer and more patient to take care of your other health needs.
