I had a torn plantar fascia. Dr Wellens and her staff were excellent. The office policies however are atrocious. They require payment up front with a refund when they receive your insurance payment and charge a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. They try to upsell unnecessary products and charged $550 for a walking boot that sells on Amazon for $100. I had three visits, with my insurance processing the final claim on June 19th. After 4 years of consistent pain and hindering my physical activities due to a running injury to my heel I decided to go visit Dr. Wellens. I am so glad I did! One month of treatment and I can honestly say that for the first time in years I have zero pain. I am able to enjoy my day-to-day activities again and I look forward to my hobbies once more. I could not have made a better decision choosing the Doctor/Surgeon for my procedure! At the surgery center, completely unsolicited on my part, during prepping for the surgery, a nurse and an anesthesiologist both told me “Dr. Wellens is the best surgeon you could have chosen”! I have suffered from severe foot pain for years and have seen several other doctors in the Lakeland area with no relief. It wasn’t until I saw Dr.Wellens- Bruschayt that I had my faith restored in the medical field of those who treat arthritis in the feet. Dr. Wellens got me back on my feet. She is a Godsend! All the women in the office are great! From the front desk at check-in to the fabulous workers in the back. They know what they are doing. I would recommend this place to anyone having foot pain. A special thank you to Liseth, who does exceptional work. After 3 visits, my foot is operational again. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Wellens and her staff. I came looking for a second opinion after being frustrated with no results or really even a plan of action for my Morton’s neuroma.
