The Tastee Diner opened at 8516 Georgia Ave. Silver Spring MD. in 1935. Never have I been to a restaurant and every time after I order, the food arrives hot in less than 5 minutes. I had the best French Toast and scrapple that I have ever eaten last weekend.
Well, I'm not sure where to start... How about here, it is NOT the Silver Spring location. It had a real "Mayberry" town feel to it. I wouldn't dare venture into the ladies room after I heard about the men's room experience. We ordered after waiting for our waitress to reappear. My best friend and I stopped here yesterday because we preferred food from a diner instead of a chain.......we should have went to a chain. There were a total of 8 people when we came in. We seated ourselves and after 5 minutes a man came over to take our drink order and told us that our waitress would be with us shortly. Well 10 minutes later she still hadn't come to take our order. I will never return to this establishment again. I see why the one in Silver Spring is so popular.
We ate here a few times when we lived in Laurel and really enjoyed it. The portions are huge and the taste was excellent. I would definitely recommend Tastee Diner.
The creamed chipped beef on toast was exquisite.
