Excellent Dishes – I've dined here a few times now and can quiet honestly say, it's become one of my top 5 retaurants in SF. The dishes are very flavorful, and they add just the right amount of spice. If you haven't had their Drunken Duck, I strongly suggest you try it. It's that good. I haven;t had brunch here yet, but i hear it's excellent. This place is a gem.

Want a successful dinner party? – Tangerine has become my restaurant of choice for dinner parties with friends, new and old. I have personally eaten there for some time now. On each of my visits the food has been so luscious, the service so warm and friendly and the atmosphere so pleasant I had to make sure my family and friends knew about it. I have had several group events at Tangerine. Each brought accolades from the attendees about the wonderful Pacific Rim dishes, their presentation, the surroundings and the fine servic... read more

Upscale with Down Low prices and now lunch. – I've been a Tangerine fan practically since they opened. I was there for their well known brunch last Sunday when Fab, the tall, tall server told me they are now open for lunch during the week. I took a look at the lunch menu which includes Pannini sandwiches, pastas, salads and more and dcided this was definately going to be one of my frequent lunch stops. If you are looking for a great place to eat lunch, brunch or dinner at very reasonable prices try this place. Oh, and say hi... read more

Splendid Combination of Value and Taste – Our party were pleasantly surprised with the food and ambiance of this neighborhood restaurant find. An entire three course meal with drinks and tips amounted to a little over $40 per person. We were especially impressed with several appetizers such as the crispy wonton Ahi tuna stacks and crispy soft-shelled crab. Meanwhile, the New Zealand lamb chops and creative baked duck with coffee sauce was also extremely good. We look forward to returning in the future.

Great Find! – Our dinner group looks for the hidden treasures of San Francisco; Tangerine ranks right up there! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable; good place for friends or a date. The appetizers were all tasty and served at the perfect temp. (the salmon potato cakes were the big winner) and the service was attentive and helpful. Of the six entrees we ordered, each was unique, tasty, and well prepared; fusion often goes too far, but the flavors here were well balanced and complimentary. Decent wine list and soju cock... read more

Will definitely return – I was pleasantly surprised with Tangerine. I recently went with my family, so we were able to try lots of different dishes. The appetizers are very yummy!! The duck spring rolls and the corn fritters were my favorite. The soft shell crab was ok and the crispy wonton with ahi stacks were also ok. I had the lamb chops for dinner - EXCELLENT!! I loved it and everyone said it was the best entree. The seafood gumbo was good, but like the other reviewer said, lacks flavor if you ask for medium. The chicken... read more

great discovery – We found this restaurant while we were walking around Castro and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered an assortment of appetizers (which were more interesting that the entrees) for our meal and were delighted by the freshness and the flavors of the dishes. The duck spring rolls and the potato fritters with smoked salmon were the definite winners. Being NYC native and a neophyte to California cuisine, Tangerine is a great introduction.

GREAT Restaurant – I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant and had a great time while there! My partner and I have decided that this is our restaurant! The atmosphere is very romantic, the food was excellent - light but plentiful. You have to try the ice cream buns! The service was really great - they gave us the right space during our dinner but were also very attentive to our needs. I have recommended this restaurant to all our friends. Go!

The food and service are wonderful – I've tried this restaurant about two months ago, because they are affiliated with iDine (where you get 10 miles for every $1 you spend). They have really surprised me. The food was incredible. The smoked salmon potatoe cakes with fennel and cream sauce are delicate and combine the flavors so well. I also recommend the chicken pancakes with penut sauce and the ceasar salad that is the best in San Francisco. Actually, the apetizers are so good that you may not even get to the rest of your d... read more
