Great view but Bad service!!! – I totally agreed with the last two reviews...I've been meaning to write this review for some time but didn't get around to it till now. The ambience and the view is beautiful but it was ruined by the bad service we received by the Hostess mainly. THE WORST SERVICE IN LOS ANGELES - KEEP AWAY – They sat us an hour late and the hostess gave us an attitude. They have three kitchens, so the food does not come out in the right sequence. I asked two people to clear a few plates, and they states that they have ?other? people that do that. The restaurant manager needs to be fired! The only saving grace was the bar staff. There are plenty of other better choices. I have given them two chances and both experiences have been terrible. KEEP AWAY.
WORST SERVICE EVER!! Mediocre sushi at best. Bar staff AWESOME – In all fairness, the food is OK. Ok at best. If you want trendy sushi and Robata go to KATANA!!!!! These people don't know right from left!! There are so many things wrong here, I don't have enough space to list. In a nut shell, this place is FAR from a well oiled machine. Management should take notice and fix it. The food is ok, but I do believe this place has the WORST service in ALL LOS ANGELES!!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! – Went to Takami last night and had an amazing time. We started with the Happy Hour and slowly progressed to having dinner in the same place (had reservations at Morton's). There was an amazing energy in the restaurant. We finished up dinner and were leaving (at about 10pm) and we saw Elevate was open. Walked into Elevate and it was crowded too! Stayed and had a drink there as well. They turned just another evening into a great experience!
What a disappointment! – The ambience is good, the service is great! The food is ok, and the parking is awful! Yes, we know it?s expensive to park in downtown. At least give the customer a direction where to park instead of letting people driving around? Is it a sushi restaurant? The fish tasted like it has been put there for a loooooong time. There are many things the owner should do. First of all, define the theme for the restaurant!
Some Good Some Bad – The restaurant is very trendy, great views, nice lounge. I think the reason there are so many mixed reviews is that some of the food is good, some of it is not. The robata steak had good flavor, but was very tough. I would not recommend it unless you really like chewing on stuff for a long time. The sushi was not that great. The chilean seabass was good and the lobster dynamite was very good, but the serving was small for a $25 lunch entree. I agree with the comments that is it expensive for what you get... read more
FABULOUS! – As soon as you walk into Takami the hosts are warm and welcoming. Best views in downtown Los Angeles and by far the swankiest spot in town. Huge variety of beers and cocktails. Food was amazing. The "tacos" are a must. Can't wait to go back.
STAY AWAY!!!!!!! Read this if your slightly thinking about going... – Poor Service! Rude waitress and an even ruder manager! We originally wanted to go to the club next door, Elevate. Since Elevate opens at 9pm and we were there around 8:45pm, instead of standing in line we decided to go to up to Takami and have a few drinks. Tragically inept service and management, but a very nice view – The food was very mediocre, the service was worse and it was outrageously expensive. I would be very surprised if the place lasts another 6 months.
