Great Sushi – I went there last night with a three of my girlfriends and we had a wonderful experience. We had a reservation at 8 and were seated by 8:15. Our server was very helpful, the food was so tasty and original. My favorites were the 21st roll and the Lemon-albacore roll. The martinis were great too, I loved the rose water martini We were planning on just having dinner but since we had such a great time we decided to go to Elevate, which is a lounge on the other side of the 21st floor.

NENENENEVER AGAIN – I went here for my birthday & the sushi is definitely not great. The decor is so old fashioned and old looking even though this place is new and u can barely see that much of the view when ur sitting cuz of the balcony type of thing blocking it. The chicken tastes like something my mom could make at home definitely nothing gourmet about it. The teriyaki sauce was salty & not sweet. I asked for light butter on the garlic edamame which was so salty our tongues were burning and we couldn?t even eat it anymor... read more

Another Wanna Be Trendy Mediocre Sushi Spot – I decided to check this place out before going next door to "Elevate" to get some drinks, and was very disappointed with the food. The view was great but the sushi quality was average. Presentation was ok ( but what's the point of presentation when the food is horrible), and the price definitely not worth it. Like I always say, I don't mind paying $$$$ for good food. But when I am charged a grip for mediocre food, that pi#&es me off.

Very Good Valentine's – So I read the reviews about both places and saw very good and some bad reviews... My friends had all had very positive experiences at Takami (and Elevate next door). I made reservations for Valentine's and went in hoping that everything would go well since it was a busy night. All I have to say is that the experience was great!!!!!!!!!! Our server was a girl named Sara and she was amazing. The food was also very very good and they had some nice Valentine's specials. One thing I really liked was the fa... read more

Closest thing to being in Manhattan – My co-workers and I tried this place for the first time last week for dineLA and we really enjoyed the food and service. The lunch was reasonably priced at $22, but when we went back this week, the lunch cost us about $31 each. We did order more food, but I think this much for lunch is definitely going to be reserved for days we can charge the lunch in or take a client out. It is a great lunch spot (we saw the LAPD Chief there talking business) and the view is great. It is Closest thing ... read more

Takami is Not so Great...Elevate is Not Worth it – I've always wanted to check out Takami & Elevate since it opened last year, but was hesitant due to the reviews. It took Dine LA Week for my bf and I to make dinner reservations @ Takami since we can try it without having to break the bank on a poor experience. The hostess was not welcoming at check-in & since we were early for our reservation they asked us to wait at the lounge for 10 mins. Instead we decided to go to the bar. The bartenders were AWESOME, the drinks were ra... read more

Very nice – So the negative reviews for this restaurant gave me pause before I went there. But all I can say is that the individuals that have negative experiences at this restaurant clearly experience the exception and not the rule. If you go on a week day night when it is not completely packed the service is fine, the food is good (and not overly expensive) and the view is fantastic. It is a great place to have a nice dinner with friends or significant other.
