Arrived from Ontario, Canada to this fantastic historical hotel. The Diamond Bell Saloon had amazing entertainment and all the staff have been very friendly. The history of this building has been amazingly preserved. Well worth the trip.
It was everything we hoped for and a little more. We stayed in the President Ford Suite and it was like something out of Downtown Abbey. Nice and spacious - we didn't feel cramped after a three-night stay. The staff was super friendly. We loved getting a drink in the Diamond Belle every evening and learning about the hiding places in the lobby. We love the location - right in the middle of it all! I'd definitely recommend a stay here if you are visiting Durango.
My wife and I just spent a week at the Strater. What a place. Beautiful historic place. A staff full of very nice very helpful people. Great talent each night. Wonderful, delicious food. We did quite a few things in and around Durango. Everyone we met spoke well of the Strater and the family who has owned it for so many years. We have to go back. In the summer.
