He did a good job fixing my carpal tunnel situation. He is a good surgeon and was highly recommended to me. He does need to be less condescending and to listen more. Right before my surgery he was talking to others in the operating room about how fat someone was that he had just seen that morning. Being overweight; l found this highly insensitive and insulting. He may be good at his job; but he has no clue how to deal with people.
Dr. Alter is a very competent, knowledgeable doctor. During one visit I found him to be condescending and grumpy but the next visit he seemed to be friendly and listened. I would definitely trust him to do another surgery but hope that his bedside manner improves. Hopefully he can understand the perspective of his patient more.
Dr. Alter gets great results! He fixed my badly broken elbow, taking it from unusable to almost 100% again. Thank you, Dr. Alter and staff!
Yes, my left wrist was broken in about five places. He did a fantastic job to repair my wrist.

Not only did Dr. Alter come highly recommended by my family Dr. for a trigger thumb analysis, but also by my mom and sister who have previously been in surgery w/ Dr. Alter and his team and they loved him! I had one appointment with Doc and had no desire to meet with another to collaborate for a total right shoulder replacement surgery. I was convinced that he and I would represent the perfect dr/patient pairing. My January 2020 surgery was awesome. Physical therapy was managed simply, he directed, I followed. 4 appointments and all 4 times he tried sending his nurse to see me. He informed me last month that "Surgery is definitely an option, but none are currently being scheduled due to the coronavirus. So, let's give you another cortisone shot(3rd) to help until then" That was the best news I heard in years! But then....... I went to my scheduled appointment today and he told me "surgery isn't an option.
