Dr. Alter has a dry sense of humor (took me a couple of visits to figure this out) but is an excellent MD and went out of his way to fit my young son in on a day he was in the OR all day and not seeing patients. I would recommend this specialist!
Excellent surgeon. When I broke my wrist, I never thought it would heal or be the same. Dr. Alter did a wonderful job.
Dr. Alter is amazing and his staff is so helpful. His professional approach is carried through his entire office. This was a painful and difficult experience but DrAlter and his staff made it so much more manageable.
Careful to treat the patient, and yet clear & direct- making sure that each patient's experience is thorough and complete (and in such a short visit so you can get back to your busy life!) And it is not just him, he has created both a highly functioning system for patient care (like nothing I have seen before) and a staff that is over-the-top qualified, caring and committed to high-quality care at a fraction of the patient's time!

He is very soft-spoken, but takes the time to listen to what your saying. Has a great bedside manner as does all of his staff. Had carpal-tunnel surgery on both hands and the results were wonderful with no side-effects. I would highly recommend him!!!
I had 2 surgeries on my finger, so I was in and out of Dr. Alter's office for a whole year, I was so happy with the way I was treated from everyone in the office. Everything from scheduling to insurance, x-rays, nurses and Dr. Alter and his NP Roula I couldn't have asked for better treatment. Dr.Alter was amazing I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone. I was was made to feel very comfortable in a situation that was a little nerve racking. Bottom line I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Alter!
Excellent! Very skilled surgeon. Not the best bedside manners until he gets to know you because he doesn't "beat around the bush" but puts the facts right up front. I would absolutely request him if I or any of my family members had a hand, finger or wrist injury.
Dr. Alter has a terrible bed-side manner, is rude, changes his treatment plan often but blames you for not being consistent, and is very reluctant to educate you on your problem or his choices (even when you make a choice). He hardly makes eye contact and had no interest in answering your questions. If you want a regular tongue-lashing in addition to the pain you're already suffering he will not disappoint.
