Dr. Shaikh took his time and answered all our questions. We learned a lot and were happy to have found a provider to help our 8-yr-old son. Unfortunately, his office staff made enormous mistakes including: taking him on as a new pt when they shouldn't have (they knew they would be no longer accepting his secondary insurance within 2.5 months of us starting there), not relaying correct information to the doctor regarding my son's medication which caused him to go without for 3 days and, taking over a week to fax an auth for m... read more
Horrible, calls 2-3 hours late!!!! Very unprofessional!!
If I could give zero stars I would. I was with him for 5 years and only stayed because he was the only psychiatrist near me that would take my insurance. He doesn't care about his patients, laughed at my troubles in life, made assumptions about me that were completely unfounded, pushed medication that harmed me, pushed his religion, judged me for struggling with severe depression saying "how could you be struggling when your life seems to be going so well". That's not how mental illness works and its shocking he said that. T... read more
HORRIBLE. Gave one star because you need to give a star rating.
Went to a scheduled appointment about 6 months ago and the office was closed. They had rescheduled my appointment, but failed to tell me. Two hours and 15 minutes was the average wait time yesterday (there was no emergency). This is unprofessional and very disrespectful to patients.
Dr Shaikh does not care about his patients as much as pushing medication on people to make his checks from the pill companies. Waiting room stinks and is jam packed with people and no chairs
How can he, as a medical professional look and you and write you script in 3 minutes? This is closest thing to a methadone clinic that I have ever seen. He is in it for the insurance money, not for patient care. Please search for somewhere to get help. This is not the place. Everything is done via paper, there office staff is confused, mixed files, etc. Unclean office environment - they squeeze 20 people in a 8 chair waiting room.
I was a patient of dr shaikhs for a little over 2 years. I waited anywhere from 1 hour to 1 and a half hours in his waiting room. Not to mention the lack of seating while it was jam packed. He only spent about 5 minutes with me, and I felt like just another number to him. This place works like a revolving door. They want to write out a prescription so they get their money. It wouldn't be bad if it was one that works, but in this case it never did.
This is the closest thing to what I feel a methadone clinic looks/acts like. The reception area is 6' x 10', crammed with broken furniture. Very small, disorganized reception area. You fill a survey every time you go, the doctor reads it in 1 minute, he refills your prescriptions, and then you leave. He says very little and speak broken English. This is a practice fueled by insurance money and not by mental practice. It is a remarkable that this practice it permitted to stay open - American Psychiatric Association!!
