Service was absolutely ridiculous. Went inside to order to-go. Took at least twelve minutes to receive 2 of 3 milkshakes. Another 15 for the third and a total of over a half hour for us to get our food order. Why? Because overhearing the servers say they "lost our order". Yet we were sitting at the counter watching them the entire time in plain view. Observed staff just standing there, often away from their stations just gabbing away instead of working. I sat at the counter. The girl working the counter was also running the register and it was only her second day. She was doing great considering, but she really could've used more help. She was swamped at the register and didn't really have time to serve the counter. Then she was out busing tables and had to run back to the register to check people out because the other waitresses were standing around talking ignoring people at the register. waste of time!! waited 20 minutes and never got food or refills....asked for food to go and found that the order was still not in and decided to simply leave and go somewhere else rather than spend my money with them.
What the heck Steak and Shake, last time I was there the waitress said you don't have oyster crackers anymore and gave me saltines with my chili. Today I didn't even get saltines, you were "out"
Champaign steak n shakes have always been my favorite places to go but the past year my BF and I have tried to go several times and had horrible horrible service. Slow, not the right orders both times the shakes didn't come out until we were already well done with the food... Then came out completely melted. The workers are all friendly so I feel horrible cause it's obvious some of them work really hard but can't pick up all the slack. Have to say I'm gonna have to give up on chambanas Steak n Shakes for a while.
I come to eat at ur restaurant on check day once a month i drive 30 miles one way plus i do my shopping in town. U have great food. I had an issue u all ran out of ur awesome biscuit so i did not get what i always get for breakfast. BUT ur manger was awesome. See u on the Friday June 3rd.
