Staff was incredibly accommodating and extremely helpful during a very stressful Christmas Eve. Had the tow truck bring me here after wrecking my car on the interstate (due to their proximity to enterprise.) Staff didn’t seem the least bit bothered that I had a bunch of luggage with me, was so friendly, and even gave me and my son a ride to the train station when the rental car idea fell through. Just went to the Steak N Shake on Neil st in Champaign. Horrible service. Rude staff. Will never eat there again!
I just experienced a situation dealing with J. R. Ruggeri, the manager of the S. Neil Steak n Shake. He accused me of lying about the amount of money given him in the drive thru. More than once he called me a liar in front of many people in the restaurant. When one's honesty is questioned and then called a liar in front of other people I feel this manager should not have this job. I have never been treated with such disrespect and believe this manager should be gone.
You want to be treated like crap? Go to Steak n Shake. Especially on South Nell in Champaign or North Neil. Hell, let's include Urbana also. Definitely, not how it was years ago.
The food itself was good. The waitress was good. We ordered shakes and they took forever. Sad when the blondes that came in 20 minutes after we ordered our shakes got theirs first
The food is always good! But sometimes the staff seem like they don't want to be there. We were there last night and our waitress was just ok. She checked on us twice maybe. We wanted our drinks to go but she never came back. Then we waited in line for what seemed like forever. The one waitress that was capable of ringing people up seemed flustered, like she had too much to do.
