actually care for the patient and listen and not make jokes or bets on if they patient will be back or not. patient was blacked out unresponsive and had to leave and call an ambulance for essentia instead. terrible nurses with terrible bedside manners. asked to speak with the hospital administrator but they said there is no "hospital administrator" instead they basically kicked us out when the patient was in need of medical attention again. went to the er nearly 10 times in 5 days and multiple times within a day on 2 occasio... read more

Hi Poets, I am sorry to hear about your experience at St. Luke's. If you haven't done so already, please contact our Patient Advocate at PAdvocate@slhduluth.com or call 218.249.5400.
Update: the patient advocate and the social workers worked very hard to resolve this issue. When I was in a mental health crisis again, I was able to go back to St Luke’s, enter without a mask, receive proper care, and they helped me arrange all the proper resources for me. I am so thankful for St Luke’s for helping me in my time of need! I’ve been at St Luke’s for many years and for the most part, I think they are amazing. They take care of their patients and truly care. However, today was different. I drove 2 hours to see ... read more
I’ve been at St Luke’s for many years and for the most part, I think they are amazing. They take care of their patients and truly care. However, today was different. I drove 2 hours to see someone regarding my mental health. I warned them that I was unable to wear a face mask due to trauma and they still told me they would be willing to see me. I get down there, and they tell me I have to wear a mask or a shield. I tried the shield because I definitely could not wear a mask and it sent me into a massive panic attack. I took ... read more
Absolutely hands down the BEST care team ever! My husband went to the ER on December 19th, 2019.... fast forward 7 months later after 4 harsh chemo treatments and a lung resection he is currently cancer-free. EVERY single person on his team of "Angels" has played a part in my children still having a father, me still having a husband.... and him still having a NORMAL life. The instict showed by the very first Doctor in the ER (Dr. Shultz) showed they were all ready to save a life. Dr Silva-Benedict and the entire Oncology tea... read more
Amazing place as a patient looking forward to working here as a team member ! I was born here as our daughter. So grateful for the townhome feel they give every member of my family. thank you
Excellent care! People who care about their patients.
Make sure your lights are on, driving to and from this Hospital. The police are on top of things here, 🚔🚔👍👍
I recommend not going to their Emergency Department, its an absolute joke. In fact, I would avoid the main hospital at all cost.. I have been insulted, called names, torn down by nursing staff and told that I am not important.. If I ever need emergency treatment again, I will be going to Esentia every time.. I will never be treated the way I was again, and it has happened more than once. I do however have some of the greatest doctors on earth taking care of me in the specialized departs, and would never give them up..
