I am diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder bipolar type and PTSD. I went to St. Joseph's to seek emergency medical attention for my mental illnesses. I am also declared disabled by Florida State Social Security. I was treated like a criminal for seeking help. When my anxiety was triggered by the male RN and the male security guards, I was shown no compassion. Everyone -the surgeon & anesthesiologist -the awesome nurses and PCTs, techs and most especially the therapists were awesome! Baycare hospitals are the best!
Making a diabetic patient wait over 2 unnecessary hours for a MRI with Anesthesia is uncalled for. Making only appointments in the afternoon for this procedure instructing the person not to eat after 12 the night before is unbearable for a type 1 diabetic. Had to shoot insulin unnecessarily to control over 400 blood sugar when test was 2 hours late. Nurses lie to you at every turn thinking they are keeping you occupied only to raise your anxiety level. Terrible!
I'm happy to say that I've not had any bad experiences with any of the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital!! The children's and the adult's side are very nice and they took good care of my family while hospitalized or just an ER visit!!! I'm happy to say that St. Joseph's hospital saved my grandson's life who was born premature!! My grandson is a 1 year old happy baby now and I'm enjoying seeing him grow up so much!!! It was a long day at StJosephs hospital yesterday. But the doctors and nurses are great there. I personally am thankful for Dr. Vincent’s care of my daughter. He has been wonderful for the last six weeks. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Vincent.
