Please, if you care about your loved ones, DO NOT take them to SSM Shawnee. If you, or a loved one is transported by ambulance, request a transfer ANYWHERE else as ASAP! Accute care will drop you in the bathroom, not tell your loved ones you have been injured in the fall, leave you in the bathroom unattended for extended periods of time, leave an IV port, forget it's there, bend the needle trying to pick you up and let you bleed all over yourself for a couple of hours. I don’t recommend this hospital at all. I took my baby to the emergency room and they said he looked fine! His fever was 103.5 his heart rate while he was sleeping was 190! That is not fine they didn’t do the labs my sons doctor ordered they said they refused and also said he looked fine so they didn’t feel the need to do it.
Recommendedfrom the registration staff to the PICU team (day nurses Amanda and Katie and overnight nurse Gavin), our experience was amazing! everyone was so kind, caring, and patient. they really kept me at ease and took amazing care of my son and I appreciate everything they did for us. ❤️

I called my doctor as I have been having issues with my UTI infection, and have a Foley cath. I called my Dr's office and was instructed to go to urgent care. Upon 5 minutes of nurse checking me in APNP-CNP Anthony Guglielmo came into the room and was very rude, and unprofessional, and said that I have been in to see him multiple times, and was completely rude. I will be filing a complaint against this man for his unprofessional cander!!!!
