We stayed at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis on October 11-October 14, 2016 and everything was perfect from the time we pulled up to the property until the time we left.
I stayed at the hotel for a conference Oct. 10-12. The checkin was a little crowded but wasn't so bad once I got to actually check in. I didn't have an actual credit card and was told they would have to put a $100.00 hold on one of my debit cards. But the guy checking me in asked if I planned on having any incidentals for my stay and waived the credit card hold. That was great! Beautiful hotel with very nice staff. Nice clean big room with a comfortable king size bed. But not much of anything else . Only a long table connected to the wall right under the tv with a desk chair. No place to put my luggage, no sitting chair with foot rest, no end tables. A little dissatisfied because even the cheapest motels have at least that. Btw, didn't like that the closet was blocking the tv from one whole side of the room. I like to watch my FOX news in the morning while I'm getting ready in the mirror.
Dirty. There is a huge pile of crumbs on the carpet in the hall on the way to my room. They have been there for two days. If you aren't vacuuming that, I know you aren't cleaning the rooms. Staff at bar is rude. Starbucks doesn't have hot food options. Elite club on 42 ran out of food and was very slow to replace, also not clean.

This hotel is beautiful and seems to be decently run considering the size of the property. The staff is courteous and friendly and I felt safe and attended to during my stay. With that being said, I was highly disappointed in many aspects of my stay. My roommate and I were attending a conference and were told we could expect a group discount rate of $149/night and that this was "Half off the normal rate". Very nice hotel! I've stayed there 3 times and did not have any problems! !
No better place in downtown Atlanta to stay. Renovated rooms, excellent dining options, and High Velocity is the best place to watch sports.
