RecommendedI had an emergency with my dog today, not only did they get me right in, but I got to see our normal vet too! They are fantastic!
It is a nice vet however it would be nice if they could better answer their phones and not make their customer feel like their being ignored.
I brought my cat into his vet to be put to sleep. He was old and having a really hard and uncomfortable time. My sister recommended this vet because they understand how some breeds of dogs need very different care. They were able to get me in the day I called. They were very considerate and seemed to care about my cat's comfort. They allowed me all the time I needed. SouthKent Vet - either location (Caledonia or Byron Center) we are (were) clients, we called this am to get an appointment for our dog and NEVER had a return call back. We called both locations and NEITHER location called back. Unfortunately, this is NOT the first time this has happened (at lease two other times we have had similar experience). We have been fine with the Vets, but getting in and/or a call back has been TERRIBLE (non-existent). IF you work there or know people that work there, you may want to let them know. W... read more

I have been bringing my dogs here for 17 plus yes.. They are great, very friendly.. Wouldn't go anywhere else!!
2 weeks ago I had an appt to euthanize my 15 1/2 yr old best bud Skeeter. I was unsure if the time was right and consulted with the vet first (wish I remembered her name she is young looking). She listened to me and advised me on the end of life. She said his heart sounded great and he looked great. She recommended a different pain regimen and bloodwork. I’m so thankful you listened to my concerns and advised me. The Rimadyl has changed him and he’s back to himself an older slower self! Loving life and hiking again he’s gone... read more
Kudoes to Southkent! I was with my daughter today when she had to put her dog down and I appreciate so much the kindess of the staff during the ordeal. I did not want my daughter alone but everyone was so wonderful had I not been there, she would not have been alone! thanks so much!
There are some amazing vets here BUT the office staff is just plain awful. the clinic manager is not any better. they screen their calls, this is not assumed this is coming from another vets office who thankfully helped me get my prescriptions because south kent ignored my calls and voicemails for 3 weeks! Thankfully another vet knew the seriousness of my pet going without his prescription. I'm sad that things cant be done even a little better because there are a few vets here that made me deal with the awful staff here but ... read more
