On May 3, 1912 ( 3 weeks after the sinking of the Titanic ) Frank & Rose Snock opened the 1st Snockey's at 142 South St. in Philadelphia. Rose Snock was pregnant at the time as fate would have it, she gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Jean, on the 2nd floor of their newly opened oyster house. Highly recommend this place. Party of 5 had steak Shrimp crabs and more. vegetables were so good. Service was outstanding. Such a friendly environment. Came from south jersey shore for family get together. Definitely travel here for there food when in town again.
